Mr. Paul Lurbin Caplener, Jr., age 48, of Hilo, Hawaii, died April 18, 2012 at the Hilo Medical Center. He was born in Honolulu on May 31, 1963 and was a former member of the Kalanianaole Athletic Club (KAC) Yankees in Honolulu and coach of the Wanderers and Orioles Baseball Teams and Hilo High School Girls Softball Team. Visitation will be held on April 28, 2012 (Saturday) at Dodo Mortuary Chapel in Hilo from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.; funeral service will begin at 10:00 a.m. Cremation will follow. Casual attire is requested. He is survived by wife, Corianne Caplener of Hilo; sons, Paul L. Caplener, III of Hilo and Micah Caplener of Hilo; daughter, Chelsea Caplener of Hilo; mother, Patricia Caplener of Hilo; sisters, Sharon Caplener of Hilo and Paulette McNerney of Waimea (Kamuela); numerous uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces, and cousins.
