Mr. Earl Takeshi Nakashima, age 70, of Hilo, Hawaii (formerly of Honokaa, Hawaii), died July 26, 2012 at the Hilo Medical Center. He was born in Honokaa on October 7, 1941 and was the retired proprietor of E. Nakashima Greenhouses. He was also a former Realtor employed by Pacific Coast Properties in Honokaa, member of the Hamakua Lions Club and Hamakua Jodo Mission. Visitation will be held on August 4, 2012 (Saturday) at Dodo Mortuary Chapel in Hilo from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.; memorial service will begin at 10:30 a.m. Casual attire is requested. No flowers. He is survived by wife, Betty Nakashima of Hilo; son, Mark Nakashima of Honokaa; daughter, Sandra (Greg) Jakob of Kailua-Kona; brothers, Kent Nakashima of Kailua-Kona, George (Charlene) Nakashima of Volcano, and James (Judith) Nakashima of Washington State; hanai brother, Mineo (Nancy) Honda of Waimea (Kamuela); hanai sister, Aiko Nakamura of Hilo; three grandchildren; numerous nephews, nieces, cousins, an uncle, and two aunts.
