Shinkichi “Rusty” Oshiro, 82, of Honokaa died July 30 at his residence. He was born in Paauhau, he was a retired Journeyman Welder for the former Hamakua Sugar Company and Paauhau Sugar Company, member of the Honokaa United Methodist Church, Hui Uruma and ILWU. Survived by wife, June Oshiro of Honokaa; sons, Stephen Oshiro of Renton, Washington, Michael (Kim) Oshiro of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, Philip (Shihoko) Oshiro of Seattle, Washington; daughter, Laurie (Theodore) Compehos of Henderson, Nevada; brother, Teruo Oshiro of Mililani; sisters, Yoshie Zakahi of Honolulu, Shigeko Oshiro of Honolulu, Arleen Sueno Ah Nee of Honolulu; two grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.
