Leialoha Sproat, 84, of Hawi, died on Thursday, February 21, 2013 at home. She was born on July 10, 1928 in Makapala, Kohala, Hawaii. She was a field worker for the former Kohala Sugar Company; a nursery worker for the former Kohala Nursery, Ltd.; and worked for various businesses in the community. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Kohala Ward. Visitation will be held from 8 to 10 a.m. on Saturday (Mar. 9, 2013) at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Kohala Ward; Funeral Service at 10:30 a.m.; burial to follow at Kona Memorial Park. Survived by, daughters, Jacquelyn Makakoa of Fortuna, California, Carolyn Sproat of Fortuna, California and Kehaulani Sproat of Hawi; son, ElRay Sproat of Fortuna, California; daughter-in-law, Ailene Sproat of Punaluu, Oahu; brothers, Kamalo (Hanako) Yamamoto of Hilo, Silom Yamamoto of Kohala, William (Mildred) Yamamoto of Hilo, Solomon Kahele (Rosemarie) Yamamoto of Maryland, Kamaka Yamamoto of Hilo and Manuel (June) Yamamoto of Kohala; sister, Kaluna Yuen of Pearl City, Oahu; aunt, Jennie Chesebro of Kohala; eight grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
