Fusae Takahara, 85, of Redlands, California and formerly of Captain Cook, Hawaii, died July 7, 2013 in California. Born May 12, 1928, in Captain Cook, she was a homemaker and member of the Kona Hongwanji Mission and Buddhist Women’s Association. Private services were held. No koden (monetary gifts). No flowers. Survived by daughter, Fay (Robert) Scott of California; sons, Brian (Lynne) Takahara of Hilo, Stuart (Mary) Takahara and Carl (Mark Wilhelm) Takahara, both of California; brother, Hideo Uchida of Honolulu; sisters-in-law, Masako Uchida, Yaeko Sakaguchi, Asako Kurose, of Honolulu, Ayame Takaki of Volcano, Sue (Paul) Johnson of Delaware, Sister Marie Antoinette of Indiana, Jane Kekoa of Honolulu; brothers-in-law, Ben Takahara of Kaneohe, Oahu, Larry (Janet) Takahara of Pearl City, Oahu; six grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.
