Mrs. Yasuko Okajima, age 93, of Hilo, Hawaii, died April 5, 2012 at the Hilo Medical Center. She was born in Pepeekeo, Hawaii on December 3, 1918 and was retired from the County of Hawaii as a Starter at the Hilo Municipal Golf Course. She was a member of the Lehua Women’s Golf Club, AJA Women’s Golf Club, Hawaii Island Golf Association (HIGA), and also played Tennis and was known for her baking. Visitation will be held on April 20, 2012 (Friday) at Dodo Mortuary Chapel in Hilo from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.; memorial service will begin at 10:00 a.m. Casual attire is requested. No flowers. She is survived by sons, Robert (Marsha) Okajima of Hilo and David (Mary) Okajima of Hilo; daughter, Jeri (Kent) Kimura of Hilo; brother, Teruo (Tamayo) Nagami of Hilo; sister, Mikako (Kiyoshi) Hamakawa of Hilo; brother-in-law, Eiichi (Michie) Okajima of Hilo; sister-in-law, Janet Yasuda of Waipahu; 7 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; numerous nephews, nieces, and cousins.
