Mrs. Mildred Lehua Taketa, age 82, of Hilo, Hawaii, died May 17, 2012 at the Life Care Center of Hilo. She was born in Honolulu, Hawaii on August 4, 1929 and was the retired store manager of the Love N Lace bridal shop in Hilo. She was a member of the New Hope Christian Fellowship Church in Hilo. Visitation will be held on May 25, 2011 (Friday) at the New Hope Christian Fellowship Church (840 Kupulau Road) in Hilo from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.; memorial service will begin at 11:00 a.m. Casual attire is requested. She is survived by husband, Shozo Taketa of Hilo; daughters, Jettijean (Rodney) Kelii of Hilo and Laurisa (Harry) Nishimoto of Hilo; sons, Russel (Stephanie) Taketa of Hilo and Dennis (Lori) Taketa of Hilo; sister, Renee Von Elsner of Keaau; brother, Ronald (Shirley) Kobayashi of Paradise Park; sister-in-law, Alice Kobayashi of Hilo; 8 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; numerous nephews, nieces, and cousins.
