Muriel Jane Boom, 81, of Pahoa died May 21 at the Life Care Center of Hilo. Born in Kansas City, Missouri, she was a retired travel agent, lifetime member of the Ladies Auxiliary of Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Post 3830, an accomplished artist, hula dancer and ukulele player. A celebration of her life and potluck will take place at 5 p.m. Friday (June 1, 2012) at the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Post 3830 located at the end of Maluhia Rd., in Pahoa. Casual attire. Survived by husband, Richard F. Boom of Pahoa; son, Gary (Jane) Boom of Gresham, Oregon; daughters, Laurie (David) Holiday of Milwaukee, Oregon, Michelle Hendricks of Pahoa, Jody (Danny) Harval of Oklahoma; hanai son, Joey Boom of Pahoa; five grandchildren, one great-grandchild, nieces and nephews.
